Christmas 2009
We had a wonderful Christmas and had a great time with family and friends!! Gage is understanding the Christmas present/holiday festivities a bit more this year, which made it that much better!! He also was quite spoiled by parents and grandparents, but he is totally worth it!! He got a big train table set that has every mode of transportation available and he loves it! It's quite eccentric. He also got a train set from Grandpa Jim, which goes on its own, but Gage likes to make it ride around, too. He got a play-dough table set with all kinds of trinkets to play with from Grandma Sue, as well as Mickey Mouse underwear--he asked for it, so here's hoping!! He got many different kinds of cars and tracks to play on, and some good books and puzzles to learn from. It is fun to see him play with so many new toys and take joy in each one!

Sesame Street Live-When Elmo Grows Up
The Sesame Street gang came to town this weekend, so of course we had to go and see Elmo and Cookie Monster. Gage was excited about going, but when they came out on stage, he was a little frightned at first because he couldn't believe that these guys were actually here, right in front of him! They even came down off the stage to meet with the kids, sadly Cookie Monster and Elmo came before Gage was really warmed up, so he screamed when they came. After the first hour, he did finally warm up and gave on of the characters a high five, but then asked to give Elmo a high five, which he wasn't able to do then. But he did really like the concert and it is something to always remember and hopefully they come again!!
On Sunday, the National Guard had their family Christmas day, and one of the officers Ray works with us invited us to come and see the helicopters. Gage can point out a plane or helicopter in the sky when it is just a dark speck, so we figured he would really enjoy it; but alas, there were too many people in a weird place, and the helicopter was enourmous and a bit overwhelming for Gage.
There were some activities for the kids to do, like jumpers, which Gage wanted to do, but not without me, and these jumpers had doors that were just too small for me to go through, so we just watched the kids slide. Gage wanted to take some pictures of his own of this.
Gage started to really relax and have a good time when we discovered the craft tables, we decorated cookies, made a card, and made a candy cane reindeer.

Christmas Decorations and the first snow!!
Gage is so excited for Christmas!! He loves seeing Santa everywhere, snowmen everywhere, trees everywhere, and candy canes!! We set up our tree and found fun in that for a week--taking all the ornaments off and breaking a few, but now it is okay other than the cat! We set up our climbing Santa in his room because he would really enjoy having some decorations, and why not choose the one with some action!! He loved it!!
Gage is loving that the snow is here!! He's so excited to see it come down from the sky and be on the ground-a lot or a little. He is so happy to have a lot of snow on the ground right now and has to go walk through it in the morning before going to school, run around in it after school, and he even got to go help dad shovel the other night. He was so excited, he put all his coats and boots and stuff on with no whining, which never happens! He wasn't happy to come in, but enjoyed his time out in the cold and saying, "snow, snow, snow!"

Singing and Dancing
Gage is quite the actor, dancer, singer, etc! He loves to sing and dance at home and school and comes home with cute little actions and songs. Thankfully I know some of them, but some I'm not so sure about so I try to get him to sing something else. He learns songs so quickly and just loves to listen to them over and over again.

Helping Out Around the House
Many people have laughed at me for creating a job chart for Gage being that he is only two years old...but those of you who really know me, shouldn't be suprised! But Gage is very proud of himself for being able to help around the house and be such a big boy! 
He loves to feed the dogs, he even knows who's dish is who's; he feeds his fish; he helps start the washer and dryer; he loves to help with the dishes by putting the soap in the dishwasher, closing the little door, then locking the dishwasher and starting it-all by himself!! Whenever I bring out the broom, he grabs it from me and starts to sweep!

Relaxing...
Gage loves taking a bath and will play in the tub for a half hour at times, listening to his music, singing a long, making up his own songs, and playing with the water and toys. (He also creates quite the puddle on the floor!)
When he is done, he'll call out, "MOOOOOMMMMM! ALL DOONNNNE!" So I'll say ok, and he'll let the water out. He likes to lay in the tub until all the water is gone, blow some bubbles in the water, then lay there for a second until I come with the towel.
Yesterday, he didn't want to get out quite yet, so I went to lay his clothes out, came back....He was fast asleep!

The Light is getting closer
I created a "prize" chart for Gage to mark his progress with his potty training. I started it in August to help motivate him a bit, and it has worked a little. He doesn't like going on his own quite yet, and I usually have him try right when he wakes up (if I get to him in time), right before a bath, and right before bed. He has a little treat to motivate him to stay sitting there, and he likes for me to leave the room. He does know when he has to go because he won't get off and doesn't want his pull-up put on until he does...when he does want his pull-up on, he knows he doesn't have to go.
We are still working on having him recognize when he has to go during the day, but he doesn't want to interrupt his play time, so we'll keep working on it so it stays positive! He has told me a few times he needs to go, and does like to go to some bathrooms when we are out and about--just to flush and wash his hands, but you have to start somewhere!
Here is his chart, in which he has gone 50 times in two and a half months!! YEA, GAGE!! The light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer and brighter!!

Some cute pictures!!
Gage helped dad move the four wheeler one day, but wasn't a big fan of it! Once the loud motor started going and the four wheeler started moving, it was time to get off! Even when dad brought them home afterward to clean, Gage did not want anything to do with them. We drove up, and he said, "No wheelers!" HMMMM....I think I'm quite proud of this fact! He loves driving the truck around the block or helping park the police car, but he does not want anything to do with a four wheeler for now!
Gage likes to crawl into bed with me on weekend mornings. Most of the time it is to watch his cartoons and play with the cat because he loves how she jumps on over to him and starts purring and rubbing up against his head. He just lays there and whispers, "kitty, kitty." But every now and then he will go back to sleep with the cat curled up with him! OH, how Gage loves his pets!!

Zoo Trip
We made another fun trip to the zoo to see all the new babies! There was a baby monkey, which we didn't get to really see because the other monkeys were bothering the mom and she ran off. There was a baby elephant and baby giraffe that were out and absolutely adoreable!!

Pumpkin Painting
Gage loves to paint anything! So it was great that we got to paint some pumpkins rather than carve, because this was far less messy and I can deal with paint everywhere rather than stinky pumpkin goo!

Choo Choo
Gage loves his trains...he brings his train set every where we go. Plus, we have found some "Thomas the Train" books at the library and checked out four or five for him to read. When he looks at pictures, he gets so excited if he finds a train in the picture and won't move from the page until he is ready.

1st day of school
Gage started his third year at Riverton High Silverpups today! He had a bit of a rough time having to wake up early and get ready, but you do what you got to do.
When he walked through the door at school, he was excited and talking up a storm until we went through the door of the Silverpups...he stood by the door and just had a stunned look on his face! His friends were excited to see him and rushed to say hi, but he told them to stop so he could let it sink in.
Thankfully for both of us, he didn't cry because I would have cried just as hard. But he was sure to make sure he had a good hold of me and that I was going where he was going! He avoided looking at anyone hoping he could just leave.
But once he saw that there was a train and that he was old enough to play in the section of the train, he felt a bit better.

Future Teacher
I have been bringing Gage with me to work a few days out of the week before he starts his time at Riverton Silver Pups!!
He is such a great kid to have and has been great to have around that I won't know how to function at school without him!!
When he sees me pointing at students and telling them to get to work, he goes up to them, points at them, and tells them, "get work!" He will then drive his cars across their desk, talk to them for a bit-like he's teaching them, then walk off!!
He has also gone from pushing the markers off the white board, to taking the covers off and writing on the board. He saw that I was writing on the board, turning around and talking to the students, then writing the board again, then talk to students...so what does my little teacher helper do? He goes and draws a big circle blob on the board, turns around, looks right at a student and talks to him like he is teaching the student!!
Can't I just take him with me every day?! Think of all he would learn!!

Chuck-e Cheese
Gage had the great time of taking his first trip to Chuck-e Cheese for a friend's birthday party. He had the time of his life and wouldn't stop running from game to game, ride to ride!! He wouldn't even stop to take a drink--which is so unlike him because he'd drink all day if he could!! He loved playing the ball rolling game, any pushing buttons game, and going on all the rides.
His first ride was on the big monster truck, he was a little scared at first because it went up and back rather than just drive forward. But once he learned he lived through it unharmed, he went back for more rides!!
He then went in a normal car, but since it only went back and forth and wasn't as exciting, he got out mid-ride!
There was a roller coaster simulator that was a bit frightning at first, but became his favorite part of the whole day!! He even started to do a little AHHH Scream when it started to go down the hills!! Makes me happy because we can go on so many roller coaster rides together in a few years!!
He did like this game where you had to catch the pop corn in the bucket because there were balls flying everywhere and he got to move the bucket all around!! It was a cute game!

Chuck-e Cheese himself made an appearance and Gage thought that was one of the coolest things ever!! He kept following him around, patting on him to get his attention, waving and saying hi, and jumping up and down afterwards because Chuck-e- Cheese said hi back and gave him a high-5!! He seriously followed him around for 15 minutes until he went in the back.
One thing Gage noticed was that Chuck-e Cheese was walking around, but he was also on the stage singing, too! It really puzzled him...true he was wearing different clothes, but how is that possible?!
He enjoyed seeing the characters on stage, too.
We will definetly be heading back there soon!!

Crocodile Hunter
Gage is such an animal lover!! He also loves to share his food with animals! He'll share with the dogs--everything he eats, the cats--tries to make them drink from his cup, his stuffed animals and even his toy cars--gives them a drink or a bite of his food. Well...his latest adventures in animal control is his crocodile!
He has fed it a stuffed monkey, some macaroni and cheese, and...
