Gage is at the stage of development where he is comparing all the things in the world to his small world.
When we read our sight words, he'll read 'school'..."Just like my school!"
'church'...just like my church
'Mickey Mouse' or any of the characters..."just like on my tv and the big tv"
'dad'...just like my daddy...'mom'...just like you!
When we were listening to a talk in church, the speaker spoke about his family reading the scriptures and Gage said, "Scriptures? Just like our home when we read scriptures on my bed."
Whenever we pass a church, he'll comment that it's a church and they have a class just like his class.
We will pass the Temples in South Jordan and he loves to yell out, "I see the Temple!" and even knows the Statue of Moroni is on top when he sees pictures of it in books--just standing alone. When we pass the Jordan River Temple, we'll tell him it's my favorite Temple and he will say, "Mom, that's your favorite! You go there with daddy and you go there with me!"
When he sees a picture of Jesus, he'll says "It's Jesus Christ, Amen."
It's so much fun to see how he perceives the world and is really paying attention to every little detail of every situation.
It's also amazing and wonderful to see how he perceives the church and is taking everything in that he learns at church. He knows the songs and loves to sing them.

You just wait until you have kids of your own!
Everybody's parents always used the threat/promise that you would feel the wrath of you when you had kids of your own. I was a very moody child and even moodier teenager--this should be no surprise since I'm still quite moody! I only ate from a very limited menu--mostly cereal. I loved animals and they controlled my life; I wouldn't do anything willingly if my dog couldn't go, too. I was and still am very stubborn! I wouldn't change or learn something new until I was good and ready, planned it all out in my head, and felt comfortable with it before I really had to do it.
Well, Gage is exactly like me!! He is very moody and you have to leave him alone until he has cried/screamed it out and is ready to talk to you and give you a hug. I know this because I am the same way. Leave us alone, just walk away and we will come talk to you when we are good and ready. If you come to us before this, you will regret it and hear us scream and yell things at you!!
He only eats from a limited menu--peanut butter/jelly, mac n cheese, toast, poptarts, fruit bars, grilled cheese, and pizza. If he could just live off poptarts and pb and j's, he would be quite content. He will just drink something or snack on goldfish or candy if he doesn't get served what he really wants. I lived off of cereal for most of my life. The occasional pb and j, grilled cheese, and pizza snuck through, but I would not budge from my menu. I would rather starve myself than eat something I did not want to eat--my mom knew this and let me eat cereal.
Gage loves animals and wants to pet all cats and dogs he comes across. He loves his "white kitty" and they are so cute together. He loves playing with his dogs--they are like his siblings--he even tattles on them quite often. He loves to go to the zoo, aquarium, pet store, and any where else he can see any type of animal.
Gage loves to learn and read as much as I do!! He is loving going to school and can't wait to learn more! However, he likes to learn when he is good and ready. He has to have it all planned out in his head and feel confident that he will get it perfect when he does it in front of people...or he likes to goof off and make you laugh. But he's so smart!!
Gage is incredible and I am thankful for him every second of every day!! It's incredible to watch him grow into his own little personality and being. When he has a tantrum, I just sit back and smile because it is truly like watching a little version of me! This makes me so happy because I never though I would be able to have a child, but I did get blessed with one and he's amazing and wonderful in every way possible!!
So blessed to be able to watch him continue to grow and learn.

HELLO EVERYBODY!!
Gage loves movies...and his new favorite movie is Despicable Me! He has seen it many, many times, has it memorized and goes around everywhere saying lines from the movie. Our church Primary had a "Meet your Teacher" and dress up like your favorite Super Hero. Gage isn't too into Super Heros like Batman, Spiderman, etc. He knows who they are and plays with them when they are his Happy Meal toys, but his SuperHero is Mickey Mouse and Disney movie characters--funny one more than serious. He loves the seven dwarfs and Lightening McQueen. Which I'm very thankful for, he's a very well-rounded boy with a great personality that is all him, not how Batman or Superman superhero personality acts.

More funny things from the mouth of a 3 year old
Well, Gage is always thinking of new ways to solve problems and make me laugh!
He looked up at the sliver of the moon tonight and said that the moon is falling apart!
He loves playing with his flashlight and making the light go all over the place. He wanted to go out tonight and play in the snow, but it was dark outside. So I told him that he had to wait until tomorrow because it was too dark to see and he would step in the dog poop. Well, Gage thought a second and said he would just take his flashlight out and shine it on the poop and step over the poop!!
Then I said that it was too cold. He then told me that his coat was nice and warm...
Well, he got to go outside with Abbie and had his flashlight with him. Oh how happy he was....how could I say no after such good persuasiveness?!

Play time fun
It's always such a fun thing to watch and play through the eyes of a three-year old. I can tell he's really enjoying school because he comes home with new ways to play--cooking dinner with great detail, things destroying other things with great sound effects, and the little converstations: "Oh, are you ok?" "yea, I'm ok." "Mommy will take care of it, it's ok." Here's a short video that shows Gage at play...

Planetarium visit
We took a quick trip one day down to the Gateway Mall, mainly so Gage could drive on the Trax train--always an adventure! While we were down there, we stopped in the Planetarium so Gage could see the space.
