I am just writing some things that make me so happy about Gage! I cannot begin to express the love and joy I feel for that boy! I will watch him do so many things each day, and they are little things, but they bring tears to my eyes because they are so wonderful and I don't want to take anything for granted when it comes to him. I love every minute, even the few times where the two of us are ready to pull each others' hair out!! He is beginning to talk so much more and has so many cute, creative things to say. His favorite phrase right now is, "Ow, you hut me!" When I was changing his underwear and wiping him down the other morning, he wasn't too happy about it and said, "Mom, you cold me!" Doesn't get much cuter than that!!! He loves singing songs and will pick up on songs he really likes after just listening to the song 2 or 3 times. You can tell when he is really into the music playing on the radio in the car because he is totally quiet, and has his "deep thinking face on" in which you do not talk to him or sing a long with the song. He's busy thinking about learning the words!! He loved singing "Grandma got ran over by a Reindeer," and "Rudolph." His favorite songs right now are the "Hokey Pokey" in which he can dance and shake and turn; "If you're happy and you know it" and "Once there was a Snowman." He is definitely gifted in the music area!!
He is very smart, but what do you expect?! HA! He knows his colors, shapes, animals, the letters A, O, T, M, and S, he can read the words "my", "go", and is continuing to learn some more, he knows how to count to 5 and likes to point out when he sees two of something.
He loves playing on the computer and has learned a lot about letters that way. He loves to read--YEA! and will go sit on his bed and read a book to himself. He loves going to the book store and library, even though it is mainly for the train or toys, but he is excited to read a new book on the way home. He is a very sensitive and loving boy. He is very compassionate and doesn't like to see anyone, especially me, sad or mad. If I get angry or frustrated with something, he will come over and say, "Mom, You ok? It's ok, Mom." He'll also come rub my back and give me a hug and a kiss. He'll also come hug and kiss me quite often and it warms my heart!! He also loves his pets and is always playing with them, giving them hugs, and making sure they are fed! He is always intruiged by what Abbie is doing and will make sure she is playing with him as often as he wants!
Gage is obsessed with any mode of transportation, especially trains. He loves playing with his train table and will be on it for two hours or so at a time! It's so cute to hear him "choo-chooing" and yelling, "Oh, no, crash! Boom, Boom!" He also loves to play with dad and his helicopter. He will chase it around the room, then run from it, then go pick it up and start all over again.
